1. 用作动词，表示“步行”“散步”等，是不及物动词。如：
He walked away sadly. 他伤心地走了。
Walking in step is not easy. 要走齐是不容易的。
Don’t walk on the grass. 不要在草坪上走。
2. 有时用作及物动词，但用法非常有限，主要见于以下情形：
(1) 表示“陪着……走”“护送……走”。如：
He offered to walk her to the station. 他提出陪她去车站。
(2) 表示“带着（宠物）散步”“遛（狗、马等）”。如：
Between one and two I was walking the dog. 一点到两点之间我在遛狗。
(3) 表示“步行走过（一段距离）”。如：
