alternative(ly)常指“两者择一地”，而not alternative(ly)指“也许两者都是地”。alternate(ly)常指“交替的，隔一个地”， The boy and the girl come on alternate days.“这男孩和女孩每天轮流地来”或“这男孩和女孩都隔一天一来”。

alternative后接介词时，介词后用动名词形式。 The only alternative to going to see him is to write to him.句中的to是介词，因此只能用going，不能用go。
