你知道“首付”用英语该怎么说吗？

down = in cash，是我们在买东西时付的现金。
You pay 5000 dollars down and the remainder in installments.你先付5000美元现金，其余的分期付款。
“down payment”组合起来就是我们说的“首付”。

He proposes to pay a down payment of $550 and the remainder the next morning.他提议付550美元的首付款，其余的在第二天早上付清。
英式英语中也可以说“deposit”，名词的意思是“存款；预付款；定金”。
We paid/put a deposit of ￡5,000 on the house, and paid the balance four weeks later.我们交了5千英镑的购房预付款，并在4周后付清了余款。
有首付就会有尾款，从上面的例句我们可以看出来，“尾款”可以说“balance”。

除此之外，“due”也可以表示“余款；尾款”，因为它作为形容词可以表示“欠债的，应支付的；应给的”。
The rent is due (= should be paid) at the end of the month.租金应在月底交。
