原则上说，当表示否定意义的副词（如little, hardly, nowhere, scarcely, rarely, seldom, never等）置于句首时，其后的句子要用部分倒装的形式。如：
Little does he care whether we live or die. 他才不会在乎我们的死活。
Hardly had she arrived when it began to snow. 她刚到就下起雪来了。
Never before have I met such a strange person. 以前我从未见过这样古怪的人。
Nowhere will you find better roses than these. 哪儿你也找不到比这更好的玫瑰了。
Scarcely had they got back before the phone went. 他们一回到家，电话铃声就响了。
Seldom has there been such a happy meeting. 过去很少有过这样愉快的会议。
Rarely have I seen such a beautiful sunset. 我很少见到这样美丽的日落。
