1. 情态动词can的基本用法
(1) 情态动词can用在陈述句中多表示主语做某事的能力，意为“能，会”;有时也可表示“可能”。如：
He can answer this question. 他能回答这个问题。
We can speak English. 我们会说英语。
My brother can be in the bedroom now. 我弟弟现在可能在卧室里。
(2) 含有情态动词can的肯定句变否定句时，需在can后加not，其缩写形式为can‘t。如：

I can‘t sing this song. 我不会唱这首歌。(否定句)
(3) 将情态动词can直接放在句首，构成一般疑问句。如：
Bob can play the violin. 鲍勃会拉小提琴。

—Yes, he can. / No, he can’t. 是的，他会。/不，他不会。
2. can的其他用法
由can引导的一般疑问句可用来表示向对方提出请求或要求给予许可。
(1) 表示请求。如：
Can you look after my dog? 你能照看一下我的狗吗?
Can / Could you please help me? 你能帮帮我吗?
(2) 表示给予许可。如：
Can I play football here? 我可以在这里踢足球吗?
You can drive my car to the post office. 你可以开着我的车去邮局。
3. 对Can问句的简略回答
对询问能力的问句的回答可以说Yes, ...can.或No, ...can?謘t.，表示对能力的肯定或否定;对表示请求问句的回答可以说OK. / All right.，表示同意对方的请求。如：

—Yes, I can. 是的，我会。
