vi.预言
We anticipate that we will meet a certain amount of resistance to our plan. 我们预料我们的计划会遇到一些人的反对。

It is unwise to anticipate your earnings by spending a lot of money. 大量花钱提前使用自己的收入是不明智的。
They anticipate ours by just one month. 他们比我们抢先了一个月。
anticipate的基本意思有二。一是“预先处理”,可指在规定的时间或适当的次序之前先行、先付、先用,常含有“不必要地、不适当地”等意味; 也指抢在某计划或某行动执行之前采取措施阻止其实现; 还可指如先知者那样先知先行。二是“预感”“期望”,即在事先预见或预知某事的存在或将发生。这种预感或期望一定是在事先曾遭受或体味到的,或者事后实现了的,除此之外的预感(如通过推理而预知者)不可使用本词。
anticipate是及物动词,一般接名词、动名词和名词从句作宾语,可用于被动结构。
anticipate其后不能直接接动词不定式,但可接动名词。例如: 我期望从这演讲中获得很多教益。误:I anticipate to derive much instructionfrom the lecture.正:I anticipate deriving much instructionfrom the lecture.
